IYOR2008 exhibit at Toyota Auto Salon AMLUX

An IYOR exhibit was held at the Toyota Salon AMLUX. This exhibit was held in conjunction wit the ICRI General Meeting and the Public Symposium on Partnership for Coral Reef Conservation towards the International Year of the Reef, organized by the Ministry of the Environment, Japan. The symposium was open to all ICRI members and the Japanese public and provided the latest information about the importance of coral reefs and the threats to them, examples of good practice, and to further developing partnerships for coral reef conservation.

Toyota Auto Salon AMLUX (http://www.amlux.jp/english/floor/f1_f.shtml) is located at east side of Ikebukuro station, a walking distance from the Crown Plaza Hotel, where ICRI GM was hold. AMLUX is a grand Toyota showroom with about 70 cars on display from the basement level up to the 4th floor, including hands-on experience attractions, games, theater, a cafe, and a test drive corner (all for free). The showroom is designed in such a way that visitors can enjoy and learn about cars from various perspectives.

As part of the Eco-Exhibition programme (a series of exhibitions on environment conservation including coral reefs, co-organized by the Ministry of the Environment and Rikkyo University), a coral reef exhibit was displayed at the AMLUX during 21 April - 11 May 2007. The exhibit was located in front of the reception at the 1st floor where most of the important attractions are displayed, such as Toyota Formula 1 car and eco-cars (e.g., Toyota Prius).
